Lloyd Marcus, wrote at nice piece for RedCountry.com: Sarah Palin, At High Noon. After watching the classical movie “High Noon” with Gary Cooper, he was amazed at the similarities between Governor Palin’s take charge, fearless and formidable approach to current issues and Obama. He also describes how Outlaw Obama and his posse (main stream media) have come to take over the town and desperately attack Sarah Palin at every opportunity, while claiming she is irrelevant. I posted part of the article:

I thought of another strong, gutsy, bold, stand on principles hero, a woman, Sarah Palin in her own modern day version of High Noon. Sheriff Palin rode into America Town on a white horse with conservative guns blazing and saved a dead McCain campaign. She brought hope to weary and battered conservative town folks and gave them a reason to vote.

Outlaw Obama and his posse, the hate filled liberal media/democrat gang, came to town a gunnin' to politically kill Sheriff Palin. They ambushed her at Miss Katie Couric's CBS saloon. Though shot and wounded numerous times, Sheriff Palin survived.

She bravely stood tall and rode high in the saddle while ungrateful, weak kneed republican town folks ran for cover, hid in their homes and peeked nervously through the curtains.

Why is Outlaw Obama and his gang so committed and desperate to destroy Palin? Could it be they recognize her destiny, like Moses, to set her people free? And why is she so despised by them? Obama's gang hate Palin for all the reasons we LOVE her. Sheriff Palin is a good, decent and strong character driven conservative leader. Palin also believes in God. Such humility and virtues are as repulsive to liberals as showing Dracula the cross.

Something that sticks in the craw of lib women is in their youth, they brought into the feminist rhetoric, “women's liberation means no husband and family”. Tragically, they find themselves aging and alone. Meanwhile, this CONSERVATIVE woman has it all, great career, fine family and a husband who loves and respects her. Adding insult in injury, Sheriff Palin looks mighty fine in her jeans.

Recently, the libs sent an old washed up gunslinger, the Letterman Kid, to challenge Sheriff Palin to a shoot out. Palin planted two bullets between the pathetic old dude's wrinkly eyes before he could un-holster his gun.

Despite Sheriff Palin's courage and willingness to fight, Outlaw Obama and his posse rule America Town. They are in the process of taking over EVERYTHING! Obama took over the livery stable and banned horses. While he and his posse continue riding horses, we town folks are forced to ride miniature ponies.

But in the spirit of what has made America Town great, an uprising is a brewin'. A HUGE conservative posse is building daily. Our first battle will be in 2010 to win back America Town's House and Senate. Then, in 2012, God willing and the creek don't rise, Sheriff Palin will lead us to VICTORY in the battle of Little Big Washington DC. Years earlier, another great lawman cleaned up America Town, Sheriff Ronald Reagan.

After Sheriff Palin sweeps out the Obama gang, perhaps once again, we will be as what Sheriff Reagan affectionately called us, “a shining city on a hill”.

It has been eight years since the United States suffered the worst attack on our soil since Pearl Harbor. As we look back, we should take stock of what has transpired since then. We have sent our nation's soldiers into battlefields far from home to defend us. These brave men and women live in treacherous conditions, facing improvised roadside bombs, suicide bombers and other attacks. Yet they fight on in their mission to defend the United States and all of us without complaint.

Our all-volunteer service is made up of Americans of all races, creeds, and economic backgrounds. These soldiers are on the front lines of this battle, and there are others in the fight as well. We must continue to give our utmost support to the United States military and those that support their efforts. In light of this, I have added my name to a letter sent to President Obama urging him to remain committed to prosecuting the War on Terror in Afghanistan. Never have so few defended the liberty of so many. We must continue to support their mission because they will continue to fight for us.

President Reagan ended his first inaugural with this story:

Under one such marker lies a young man-Martin Treptow-who left his job in a small town barber shop in 1917 to go to France with the famed Rainbow Division. There, on the western front, he was killed trying to carry a message between battalions under heavy artillery fire. We are told that on his body was found a diary. On the flyleaf under the heading, "My Pledge," he had written these words: "America must win this war. Therefore, I will work, I will save, I will sacrifice, I will endure, I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone." The crisis we are facing today does not require of us the kind of sacrifice that Martin Treptow and so many thousands of others were called upon to make. It does require, however, our best effort, and our willingness to believe in ourselves and to believe in our capacity to perform great deeds; to believe that together, with God's help, we can and will resolve the problems which now confront us. And, after all, why shouldn't we believe that? We are Americans. God bless you, and thank you.

As we look back to that tragic day eight years ago we take pride in the fact that we came together as a nation in the days, months and years that followed. We rose to the challenge that fateful day and we still can. And why shouldn't we believe that? We are Americans.

I thank all our servicemen and women, in and out of uniform, for keeping us safe over the last eight years in the face of enormous odds.

Please thank a veteran today. They certainly do not look for those thanks, but they have more than earned it.

Looking for a leader, Tea Partiers issue invite to Palin

EL PASO, Texas (CNN) — As the Tea Party Express makes its way across the country, Sarah Palin has emerged as a favorite daughter of the movement, and organizers have invited her to join the tour — or at least come to the final stop in the nation's capital. The bus is scheduled to end its nationwide journey in Washington on Saturday, September 12.

"We've been in touch with her people, letting her know the response that we've gotten. She's very suportive of the movement," says Joe Wierzbicki, one of the organizers traveling on the Tea Party Express. So far, no politician has emerged as a leader of the Tea Party movement – and the question of just who might eventually take up the mantle is a hot topic on the bus. Nobody may be better positioned than Palin — but organizers, some of the most motivated members of the conservative base, still say she'll need to earn that title. "Right now there's a handful of people who strike a chord with the tea party base, and she is certainly one of those people," says Wierzbicki. "Whether or not she emerges as one of those leaders, that's between her and the American people."

Sal Russo, another organizer of the Tea Party Express, launched his career in conservative politics working for Ronald Reagan's California gubernatorial campaign in 1966. Russo thinks Palin might emerge as a leader of the Tea Party movement – but she'll have to earn that title first. "I think it's a possibility," he says. "When the election was over in November, I think her support was a lot stronger than it is today. She's got to kind of get her act together, and develop a presence with the public that inspires some confidence.

"She could be the kind of person that becomes the leader of the Tea Party movement, but she hasn't done anything yet to assume that role." At tea party protests, Palin's is the name heard most often amongst participants. In El Paso, Texas Wednesday, the crowd chanted "Sar-rah, Sar-rah." One hot item: "Draft Sarah Palin 2012″ t-shirts. Tom and Susan Mendez came to the tea party in Albuquerque looking for a leader. They have two homes in foreclosure. Tom, a general contractor, is having trouble finding work.

"This movement needs direction," he told CNN. He said he fears the concerns of the tea partiers may not be heard in Washington.

"They're not getting the message from us, so they need to get the message from someone. Maybe Sarah Palin." His wife Susan lit up at the mention of Palin's name. She voted for Ron Paul last year, and has a dream ticket in mind. "Palin and Paul sound good to me," she said.

Most of us are outraged over the Scots freeing this muslim terrorist and allowing him to go home to a heros welcome. I certainly am. Why would Obama allow this and why would the Europeans do this?

Over the past several decades we have seen Europe becoming more and more a "social democracy," with horrible immigration and welfare policies. The WSJ wrote a very telling piece on the state of Europe, why Europe wants Obama to fail and how they become so weak-kneed:

Europe has been riding on our economic coattails and sheltering under our defense umbrella since the end of World War II nearly 65 years ago. Our markets have been open to European goods, and our strong currency and relative affluence -- the product of our much-maligned free-market economic model -- have provided Europe with a ready buyer. While providing a huge market for Europe's goods, we've also substantially relieved the European powers of the burden of defending themselves. By assuming Europe's defense the U.S. has, in effect, allowed it the luxury of extremely expensive and ultimately unsustainable social-welfarism. They have become left-wing wimps and, to no surprise, freeing a convicted terrorists and mass murderer to appease whom ever fits right in.

The bests lesson is history. All we have to do is look back a few decades to a very similar situation or to a time when we did NOT have a coward in the White House:

Back in 1985, President Reagan sent 2 US Navy F-14 Tomcats from the USS Saratoga to intercepted the Egyptian 737 carrying the terrorists responsible for the Achille Lauro hijacking.

The Achille Lauro Incident began on October 7th, when Palestinian terrorists took control of the Italian cruise ship. There were over 400 passengers and crew aboard of various nationalities. The hijackers immediately demanded the release of fifty members of Palestinian Liberation Front who were being held in Israeli prisons. The Israelis refused.

During this time the terrorists had executed an American while onboard the Achille Lauro. The man was named Leon Klinghoffer, and he was confined to a wheelchair. On October 10th, the Egyptian government granted the hijackers passage on an EgyptAir 737 charter plane bound for Tunis. Meanwhile, President Reagan was aboard Air Force One when word arrived that the terrorists would soon be arriving in North Africa. He ordered the USS Saratoga and her air wing, then patrolling the Adriatic Sea, to find the EgyptAir flight and force it to land at Sigonella, Sicily.

How would Obama respond? He would do absolutely nothing. Obama can be defined in one sentence: You can please some of the people some of the time but non of the people all of time. He has absolutely no backbone.

I have little doubt Palin or McCain would have reacted in a similar fashion like Reagan. Unlike Obama, Palin actually has principles, loves America and has documented executive experience dealing with emergencies and making tuff decisions. Palin also has a great appreciation and love of our soldiers and military. Which should be a prerequisite for being Commander-In-Chief. She understands the responsibility that come with America being in-charge and the only world power. Obama, on the other hand, resents America much like many European or South American elitist politicians who sees the power and dominance of America with anger and jealousy. His world apology tour and his surrender to the no longer “War on Terror” has made this very clear.

Reagan sent in the F-14 because one America was killed and Obama does nothing when a terrorist that killed 189 Americans is freed!! More and more Americans and the world are seeing Obama, much like Carter or Chamberlain, as pathetic and a pushover. A One-term failed experiment that most now hope is over sooner then later.

Governor Palin apparently enjoys The Wall Street Journal. As we see The NY Times sink The Wall Street Journal grows to more then double its readership. Despite heading into bankruptcy The NY Times continually demonstrates it is not even bottom-of-my-birdcage worthy by targeting Governor Palin. All to protect the disaster Obama. Unfortunately, their demise is a good thing.

Death Book for Veterans, Ex-soldiers don't need to be told they're a burden to society

Last year, bureaucrats at the VA's National Center for Ethics in Health Care advocated a 52-page end-of-life planning document, "Your Life, Your Choices." It was first published in 1997 and later promoted as the VA's preferred living will throughout its vast network of hospitals and nursing homes. After the Bush White House took a look at how this document was treating complex health and moral issues, the VA suspended its use. Unfortunately, under President Obama, the VA has now resuscitated "Your Life, Your Choices."

"Your Life, Your Choices" presents end-of-life choices in a way aimed at steering users toward predetermined conclusions, much like a political "push poll." For example, a worksheet on page 21 lists various scenarios and asks users to then decide whether their own life would be "not worth living."

The circumstances listed include ones common among the elderly and disabled: living in a nursing home, being in a wheelchair and not being able to "shake the blues." There is a section which provocatively asks, "Have you ever heard anyone say, 'If I'm a vegetable, pull the plug'?" There also are guilt-inducing scenarios such as "I can no longer contribute to my family's well being," "I am a severe financial burden on my family" and that the vet's situation "causes severe emotional burden for my family."

When the government can steer vulnerable individuals to conclude for themselves that life is not worth living, who needs a death panel? One can only imagine a soldier surviving the war in Iraq and returning without all of his limbs only to encounter a veteran's health-care system that seems intent on his surrender.

I was not surprised to learn that the VA panel of experts that sought to update "Your Life, Your Choices" between 2007-2008 did not include any representatives of faith groups or disability rights advocates. And as you might guess, only one organization was listed in the new version as a resource on advance directives: the Hemlock Society (now euphemistically known as "Compassion and Choices").

This hurry-up-and-die message is clear and unconscionable. Worse, a July 2009 VA directive instructs its primary care physicians to raise advance care planning with all VA patients and to refer them to "Your Life, Your Choices." Not just those of advanced age and debilitated condition—all patients. America's 24 million veterans deserve better.

If President Obama is sincere in stating that he is not trying to cut costs by pressuring the disabled to forgo critical care, one good way to show that commitment is to walk two blocks from the Oval Office and pull the plug on "Your Life, Your Choices." He should make sure in the future that VA decisions are guided by values that treat the lives of our veterans as gifts, not burdens.

On Wednesday, August 19, 2009 Governor Palin commented on Obama Sending Billions Overseas To Appease Environmentalists and she apparently saw that something was fishy. She questioned why the US is investing even $1 overseas for energy when we have the need at home. Well now we know! Obama & cronies have guaranteed $10 billion in loans to Pertrobas but what is more disturbing is socialist Soros invested $811 million in the same company. He must have an inside source?

Bloomberg reported Obama Financier George Soros bought a $811 million stake in Petrobas Brazil SA, making the Brazilian state-controlled oil company his investment fund's largest holding. As of June 30, the stake in Petrobras, as the Rio de Janeiro-based oil producer is known, made up 22% of the $3.68 billion of stocks and American depositary receipts held by Soros Fund Management LLC, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Petrobras has since slumped 28%.

Oddly enough, Oil Online reported Pertobas has secured a loan of 10 billion in US tax dollars from Obama:

The U.S. government is prepared to provide up to $10 billion in loans to finance the development of massive hydrocarbon reserves off Brazil’s coast, a Brazilian official said Wednesday.

Obama’s national security adviser, Gen. James Jones, discussed the matter with officials this week during a visit to the South American country, Brazilian Planning Minister Paulo Bernardo da Silva told reporters. He said the U.S. Export-Import Bank already has signed a letter of intent in that regard with Brazilian state oil company Petrobras.

Coincidence or dirty politics? It looks like Obama is once again paying back his friends. I hope everyone likes the “Change.” God help us all!

With all do respect, Governor Palin’s point is rather simple: Why are we investing in and contracting with more foreign corporations & countries to provide energy for the US? The real reason is Øbama is the worst type of hypocrite which makes him dangerous and very anti-American.

On-the-one-hand, he thinks he is attempting to appease the crazy environmentalists while supplying the US with more of its energy needs. 1st, with out a doubt the Brazilians will do more harm to the environment than any US corporation. 2nd, states like CA, ND, AK and others have large untapped oil reserves and with the CA’s & US deficit crisis we are investing in Brazil and Brazilian corporations for energy? Once again Øbama is spending tax payers money with absolutely no regard for the future as all good liberals do.

As we all are aware, Drilling at home creates thousands of jobs, we become less dependent on foreign sources of energy & safer and US dollars and revenue stay in the US. As anyone with common sense knows the point was to drill at home. So once again, Governor Palin is 100% correct.

Here we have 2 Bank spokesman, Phil Cogan and an unnamed administrator, speaking to Politico:

The bank does not rely on tax money and that Palin's statement ignores the bank's central function: To lend money to foreign companies for the purchase of American goods and services. Governor Palin’s comments were primarily targeting Øbama & cronies and than this tax-funded US corporation.

"It has to be produced by U.S. workers," Cogan said. Palin's statement refers to "creating jobs and health benefits in the U.S." "That's exactly what a purchase financed by the U.S. government would do," Cogan said. “The loan would likely finance engineering services, sales of ships to service oil platforms, or drilling equipment. This is the government doing what it's supposed to do: Create jobs and make sure that Americans get a fair shot at selling goods and services — not the British or the French or anyone else — and to help American workers compete on a level playing field"

The unnamed administration official had this to say: "This is like her and her death panels. “This is one more example of, 'Let's take a situation with a kernel of truth and blow it up and not let the facts ruin a good story.”

The answer is drill at home dummy and, next time please have someone read Governor Palin’s editorial to you. I also thought he had a great Barney Franks response.

Paul Benedict (Libertarian), of NolanChart.com, wrote a very nice piece describing Governor Palin and Governor Reagan. Both were ridiculed and belittled by the press, in a very similar manner, on there way to The White House.

Most of America, via the health care debate, has now been treated to a taste of the derision that Governor Palin has experienced on a daily basis. Though Americans will not soon forget they were fed such bitter fare by their elected leaders, the malicious slander sent their way is a badge of honor. Generation after generation of Americans have walked this same ground and have been scorned from far higher thrones than these. Consider for examples both Governor Palin and President Reagan.

The political elite's caricature of Sarah Palin is remarkably similar to Ronald Reagan's. Perhaps that is why she was invited to speak at the Ronald Reagan library. Both Palin and Reagan have been criticized as unintelligent. Reagan because of his long career in acting rather than in the brainwashing institutes of "higher learning," and Palin because she is the mother of five and simple hearted enough to practice the things she claims to believe. Palin, of course, has had additional elements of her gender thrown into the characterization of her intellectual merits. Despite the academic abuse of the English language, what the effetes criticize should not be confused with a lack of intelligence. Even during his life, Reagan's photographic memory was well known, and despite his collegiate love of football more than books, he could read the newspaper at five (Dutch 27).

Sarah Palin's distinct accent and disinterest in the citadels of intellectual enlightenment are not disadvantages to the pursuit of American political liberty, they are, if history is to speak, prerequisites. Indeed, every time this mother of five, speaking in colloquial English, topples a tyrant of the intelligentsia with the simple truth, America cheers. We who are of Lincoln's party cheer when she, self-tutored, bests her Stephen Douglas with her Middle American parlance. We love it when with the passion of Fredric Douglas she actually reads a bill and speaks her mind with an insight lost on those of the priests of Egypt who love title more than truth. That is America. That is conservatism. That is the crisp sound of liberty ringing in the morning breeze.

Sarah Palin, unlike Ronald Reagan, is yet largely untested in the greater arena of national politics (until the recent Health Care debate and, like Reagan, only a single phrase was needed). Even as recently as two months ago it was even money whether she had just quit on her role as governor or whether she had beat a strategic retreat. Such things must, of course, look alike. For instance, at the Battle of Cannae, when Hannibal's center retreated, history only understood the Carthaginian's genius by the astounding number of Roman dead. Perhaps the vanishing language on rationing and death panels is only coincident with the voices of the American people. On the other hand, perhaps that distant thunder is, after all, the Nubian cavalry sealing in the reckless ranks of the statist academics and their media sycophants. Time will tell, but the visceral outrage of petty tyrants at an ex-Governor's little Facebook page may just be the first sounds of an historic massacre.

This is absolutely amazing. It is looking like Governor Palin's efforts have not only put Øbama & team on defense but a total surrender. The Government-Run Health Care option is now 'not essential' or even better off the table according to several sources! As Governor Palin’s first move at a run towards the White House in 2012, she could not have made a stronger showing. I would suggest befriending Governor Palin on her Facebook page to keep up with the latest. She has been getting 20,000 new supporters or friend request a day.

Palin Wins: If she’s dim and Øbama is brilliant, how did he lose the argument to her?

The first we heard about Sarah Palin's "death panels" comment was in a conversation last Friday with an acquaintance who was appalled by it. Our interlocutor is not a Democratic partisan but a high-minded centrist who deplores extremist rhetoric whatever the source. We don't even know if he has a position on ØbamaCare. From his description, it sounded to us as though Palin really had gone too far.

A week later, it is clear that she has won the debate.

Øbama himself took the comments of the former governor of the 47th-largest state seriously enough to answer them directly in his so-called town-hall meeting Tuesday in Portsmouth, N.H. As we noted Wednesday, he was callous rather than reassuring, speaking glibly--to audience laughter--about "pulling the plug on grandma."

The Los Angeles Times reports that Palin has won a legislative victory as well:

A Senate panel has decided to scrap the part of its health care bill that in recent days has given rise to fears of government "death panels," with one lawmaker suggesting the proposal was just too confusing.

The Senate Finance Committee is taking the idea of advance care planning consultations with doctors off the table as it works to craft its version of health care legislation, a Democratic committee aide said Thursday.

Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, ranking Republican on the committee, said the panel dropped the idea because it could be "misinterpreted or implemented incorrectly." . . .

The Palin claim about "death panels" was so widely discredited that the White House has begun openly quoting it in an effort to show that opponents of the health care overhaul are misinformed.

You have to love that last bit. The fearless, independent journalists of the Los Angeles Times justify their assertion that the Palin claim was "widely discredited" with an appeal to authority--the authority of the White House, which is to say, the other side in the debate. One suspects the breathtaking inadequacy of this argument would have been obvious to Times reporters Christi Parsons and Andrew Zajac if George W. Bush were still president.

Except that Palin didn't "set off" this discussion; Øbama did by trying to ram through legislation postalizing the medical system with no time for debate or reflection. How to care for dying patients is a serious, sensitive and complicated matter, one with which American families struggle every day

According To Alison Fitzgerald, Timothy J. Burger and Bloomberg:

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said providing citizens with the option of government-run insurance isn’t essential to the Obama administration’s proposed overhaul of U.S. health care.

“What’s important is choice and competition,” Sebelius said today on CNN’s “State of the Union.” The public option itself “is not the essential element.”

Asked if a cooperative plan is a possible replacement, Sebelius said she didn’t know what alternatives Congress would settle on among competing versions of the health legislation now under consideration. The Senate Finance Committee is discussing cooperatives, or networks of health-insurance plans owned by their customers, that would get started with government funds.

Sebelius’ comments suggest that Øbama may be considering backing off its commitment to create a government-run health insurance system to operate alongside private insurers in order to get health legislation passed.

“There are not the votes in the Senate for the public option, there never have been,” North Dakota Senator Kent Conrad, one of the lead Democratic negotiators on health care in the Finance Committee, said on “Fox News Sunday.”

“To continue to chase that rabbit, I think, is just a wasted effort,” he said.

“President Øbama and his cabinet have read the tea leaves,” said Senator Richard Shelby, an Alabama Republican, on the Fox program. The American people “don’t want a government- run program,” Shelby said. Shelby also said that the creation of co-ops, while “that would be government involvement” would be “a step in the right direction.”

According to The Nefarious AP:

Bowing to Republican (Governor Palin) pressure, Øbama's administration signaled on Sunday it is ready to abandon the idea of giving Americans the option of government-run insurance as part of a new health care system.

Facing mounting opposition to the overhaul, administration officials left open the chance for a compromise with Republicans that would include health insurance cooperatives instead of a government-run plan. Such a concession probably would enrage Øbama's liberal supporters but could deliver a much-needed victory on a top domestic priority opposed by GOP lawmakers.

Officials from both political parties reached across the aisle in an effort to find compromises on proposals they left behind when they returned to their districts for an August recess. Øbama had sought the government to run a health insurance organization to help cover the nation's almost 50 million uninsured, but he never made it a deal breaker in a broad set of ideas that has Republicans (Governor Palin) unified in opposition.
