Olbermann: Bristol Palin Pro-Choice, 'Repudiating' ‘Anti-Choice’ Gov Palin ‘Hypocrisy’

Monday, April 06, 2009 0 Responses

Shortly after President Obama’s Monday press conference, during a special abbreviated edition of Countdown, MSNBC's Chris Matthews effused that he was "very impressed with [Obama's] amazing ability," opining that the President was "at his best intellectually." After reciting one of Obama’s answers, Matthews further gushed: "What a mind he has, and I love his ability to do it on television. I love to think with him."
Keith Olbermann also alluded to his perception of Obama being "intellectual" as the MSNBC host put down President Bush’s past performances. After referring to a Woody Allen joke about people’s standards being lowered over time, the MSNBC host continued: "This is an entirely different experience for anybody who really perhaps only knew in their young lives President Bush ... This news conference in which a President will answer a multi-part question with a series of four different answers, all of them absolutely common sense and also intellectual and will take seven minutes to answer them. Is he going to adjust to where people were with George Bush’s, kind of, more truncated performance, or is he anticipating the democracy to be participatory and people are going to go in there ... is he going to demand of, you know, citizens, to go along with him and listen for the whole seven minutes?"

Monday, April 06, 2009 2 Responses

If you are patiently (or impatiently) waiting to contribute to Governor Palin's legal defense fund, your wait is almost over. This is the response from Meghan Stapleton of Governor Palin's team with regards to the status of a legal defense fund.:
"Thank you so very much. We should have all the legal paperwork done this week in the establishment of a fund and hope to launch it Thursday. Please watch for any news this week (or early next at the latest) and please thank EVERYONE for their support. The Governor is overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown across America."
Please check back daily for further details.

Governor Palin Accompanies Food Delivery To Rural Alaska

Monday, April 06, 2009 0 Responses

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Alaska Governor Sarah Palin accompanied Franklin Graham, son of American icon and evangelist Billy Graham to the Alaska Native communities of Russian Mission and Marshall Feb. 20 to deliver boxes of food to village residents. Graham heads up Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian evangelical mission-based relief organization.
Among the many people who came to meet Palin and who sought to speak with her was Nicholas Tucker, the man whose letter to a local newspaper describing dire conditions in his home village of Emmonak set off a flurry of concern for Alaska’s rural residents.
His January letter described families who had to choose between heating oil or food, and parents who passed up meals to feed their children. In response, donations have been coming into rural Alaska since, and the state has sent commissioners to confer with village residents on untapped state aid. Sen. Mark Begich, D-Alaska, called on the BIA, which offered monetary assistance.
In a video by Alaska Newspapers Inc., Tucker can be seen speaking first to Alaska Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell. Though there have been copious news stories over the last few weeks spotlighting Tucker’s letter, Parnell evidently believed the elderly and softspoken Tucker was a blogger.

Media Should Back Off Governor Palin And Leave Her Children Alone

Monday, April 06, 2009 0 Responses

Fox and ABC TV, interviewing various women reporters and some men, want to just keep trying to trash Gov. Sarah Palin, but say nothing about Sen. John McCain.
The election is over, and these interviewers just can't consider Palin was working for presidential hopeful McCain. The staff assigned to Palin was from the Republican National Committee, and she tried to carry the torch requested of her.
Frankly, I think the women are jealous of her. She was not in one of the influential clubs of the eastern states, but down where the average person lives. I know she will not lower herself to answer the critics, and I see why. Today Palin has her hands full with the volcano eruption, as does Gov. John Hoeven, of North Dakota, with the flooding of the Red River.
I say to the media to lay off, and donate to the Red Cross trying to help these governors.

Governor Palin Wants Special Senate Election For Alaska

Monday, April 06, 2009 0 Responses

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said her state’s newest senator, Democrat Mark Begich, should allow his seat to be decided in a new election now that charges against his predecessor Ted Stevens are being dropped.

“Alaskans deserve to have a fair election not tainted by some announcement that one of the candidates was convicted fairly of seven felonies, when in fact it wasn’t a fair conviction,” Palin said Thursday in an interview with the Anchorage Daily News.

Begich narrowly defeated Republican Stevens in last fall’s election, one week after a jury in Washington, D.C., convicted Stevens of seven counts of lying on financial disclosure forms to conceal hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts and home renovations from a businessman.
