As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.

  1. jecolibe Said,

Obama get out of our lives, you and your cohorts have no business telling us who can live and who will die. I understand why you ignore your brother and your aunt - you are a cold inhuman whatever.

Sarah, we wish you everything God has to offer and take care of little Trig - he is adorable

Thank you Gov. for always being a true unabashed patriot- speaking candidly and forthright, cutting to the chase-not just going thru the motions but making a difference, a BIG difference!
Shamefully I can't say the same thing-until now!... your example is inspirational-motivating me and millions more to stand up and be counted, you are worth fighting for... America is worth fighting for!
    God bless you and Family.

It is interesting that two Republicans were on a HBO show that makes comedy out of the Republican Party, "Real Time With Bill Maher." I guess things are getting to be a drag without President Bush to be the butt of every joke. He regularly attacks Palin.

These two Republicans were manipulated into saying there is no Death Panel. The end result of any government controlled healthcare is going to be decisions about who can live and who can die. I suspect if a child has genetic issues and develops cancer, they will not put that child high on the list for treatment.

Government controlled healthcare is always going to be rationed healthcare.

  5. Unknown Said,

I am 64 yrs old and am recovering from breast cancer. My insurance company never denied one test or prosedure that I had. My doctors are great and I had wonderful care! Can anyone tell me why I should have to change to a government run health care plan? I am perfectly happy with what I have. I understand that there are abuses and that some are not covered by insurance. We need to fix that but having government tell us what we can do with our health is NOT the answer. I have never been an activist but I am going to fight as hard as I can to make sure they stay out of our health care!
