An interesting prediction from the CW series, “Supernatural” Sarah Palin is our next President. American hating liberal Hollywood naturally was not very complimentary to Sarah Palin. They predict doomsday but then again they elected the communist anti-christ so they are not to far off the mark. What they do not realize is the disaster Obama has created will also have to be cleaned up by President Palin. It is also safe to say that what ever political opinion or view Hollywood holds the opposite is true.
In episode 4, one of the lead characters is transported to circa 2014, where a demonic pandemic (not swine flu/H1N1) is circling the globe and cities are a wreck. One character states a news headline: "President Palin defends bombing of Houston."
The creator of “Supernatural” Eric Kripke said in an interview episode 4, which leaps five years into the future: "Sarah Palin is president. It's the apocalypse! That would be a sign!" Kripke said.
He was asked a 2nd time if he was serious about Sarah Palin:
No, we weren't joking. Like I said, it is the Apocalypse, after all. Beyond that, the world in 2014 is a entertainingly nasty place to be. The Croatoan virus, introduced in Season 2, has spread worldwide, resulting in a 28 Days Later situation. Our band of hunters have resorted to living in the woods, protecting as many terrified survivors as they can. When we meet our heroes in the future, we'll see that time has changed them. Especially Castiel. But on the plus side, Chuck is living with the guys at the refugee camp, and he's still as neurotic as ever.

I posted about this on the Team Sarah website (I was watching the program). Some there and here might dislike the show's depiction. However, this may be a place where the old showbiz adage, "No such thing as bad press," comes into play. Whether they make her out as an angel or a devil, the show (inadvertently) expressed Palin's viability as a Presidential candidate. And having it set in 2014, it makes means she won in 2012 (defeating Obongo).
As for the substance of the reference, in the show itself, it was just one of a number of news headlines being read to the out-of-time character to give him a feel for the situation. There was no direct connection between Palin and the Apocalypse. As for having her bomb Houston, the first thought that crossed my mind as a viewer was that the epidemic, which created human mutants, was simply so bad that some sort of bombing was necessary in that location. While I'm a biased watcher, the image that came to my mind was of a President making an incredibly difficult decision to combat an unprecedented threat.
Unless people look at the Internet discussions, most won't compose the Palin-Apocalypse connection. In fact--and I may have missed soemthing on this--it appeared that the demonic pandemic actually is already spreading, even before she takes office, thus making this a problem she "inherited from the previous administration," not one caused or created by her administration. Even today, most viewers are just gonna watch the show, hear the reference, think what they're gonna think based on their current views of Cuda, and then go on with life.
The big news, though, is that a "President Palin" was mentioned in a non-satirical, serious context in a dramatic program. No jokes made. No snide comments. Simply laying that out. That doesn't happen very much in the mainstream entertainment media.
To the Obama birth-certificate issue followers, think of this as a character in a show saying something like, "as unseen as an Obama birth certificate." Even if intended as a punchline, such a statement (and there have been a few such allusions) puts the issue into pop culture. No matter how humorously intended, it plants the BC question as a legitimate thought in the minds of viewers. (People take TV and movie characters far too seriously.) Likewise, this Palin reference might--MIGHT--do, in a small way, that same thing. Don't underestimate the influence of entertainment media.
While I have no doubt this was intended as a shot, that is irrelevant. I'm sure Palin herself is laughing about it even now.

I thought it was really funny and not in a negative way. If Palin runs I'll vote for her. Nothing in the show that I saw was mocking in anyway. The people on the internet suggesting some sorta apocalyptic Palin connection are just making crap up. Technically the apocalypse started in 2009 and Palin was elected president during the chaos to follow.

According to TV Guide, the episode of "Supernatural" airing on the CW network on Thursday, December 10, 2009 (9pm Eastern, 8pm Central), appears to be this same episode.
