Anchorage, Alaska - Governor Palin welcomes all U.S. & international Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC) members in Anchorage for their midyear conference!
IOGCC and its member states have a well-established history of balancing the production of our nation's oil and gas resources with environmental protection through effective regulation. They are holding their Midyear Issues Summit from May 11 - 13, 2009 thanks to Governor Palin.
The IOGCC analyzes technology and regulatory strategies that will further reduce the footprint of oil and natural gas production. And they feel there is no better location to discuss this topic than in Anchorage, Alaska, -- with a Governor that has put into place successful regulation enabling energy production to coexist with some of the most pristine landscapes and wildlife in the country.
IOGCC meetings, typically attended by member governors and their representatives, federal and state regulators, legislators, and a cross-section of industry representatives, provide an effective forum for government, industry and others to share information and viewpoints, allowing members to take a proactive approach to emerging technologies and environmental issues. The event is sponsored by: Marathon, BP, ExxonMobil, Concophilips, Petroleum News, devon, Enbridge, IHS, Blue Sources & Pioneer Alaska.
