Gov Palin Pushes Alaskans For 2nd Straight Victory Over The Lower 48 In President’s Challenge
Thursday, May 14, 2009
Juneau, Alaska - Governor Palin is challenging Alaskans to sign up for a six-week physical activity competition to improve their health and give Alaska a chance to receive national honors for the second year in a row.
Since May 1st, both adults and children were able to sign up for the National President’s Challenge, sponsored by the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Alaska took first place in last year’s National President’s Challenge, with 2,868 participants, the highest among all states.
“I was so proud of Alaskans last year when thousands of us signed up to add more activity to our days,” said Governor Palin. “I know we can do it again this year. If we only exercise for 30 minutes each day we’re going to feel better, health and attitudes can improve and we can enjoy life more!”
