LA TIMES: Now, It's Sarah Palin's Turn To Target Democrats

Friday, March 26, 2010 0 Responses
IF ANYONE HAS FORGOTTEN or was not aware:  Sarah Palin’s church was torched shutting it down for months and causing millions in damage.  That was what the dangerous America hating MSM reported but they forgot to mention it was filled with children, the gas-line was cut, electricity was cut and the phone lines were cut!
Longer term, Palin is doing what any possible presidential candidate should do 32 months out: Hand out her precious personal campaign time and PAC money to potential allies for her own race should she decide to launch one about this time next year.  That's her much vaunted Common sense way. […]
Using her favorite Facebook page, Palin's just said she's going to invest her money and time in "commonsense conservatives" to oppose her list of targeted Democratic representatives.
"We're going to fire them," Palin proclaimed, "and send them back to the private sector, which has been shrinking thanks to their destructive government-growing policies. "Maybe when they join the millions of unemployed, they'll understand why Americans wanted them to focus on job creation and an invigorated private sector."
Why do these Democrats draw Palin's attention? They voted for "Obamacare" and represent districts the McCain-Palin ticket carried. […]
Back to politics: As if to confirm the vulnerability of such Democratic folks, Vice President Joe Effing Biden acknowledged to party donors in Baltimore the other night that they would lose seats this November, as The Ticket reported here.
Joe blamed the anticipated defeats not on the economic stimulus' failure, not on the rancorous and endless healthcare debate, not on the now gaping enthusiasm gap between his party and the GOP. Biden blamed the upcoming 2010 hard times instead on President Obama's 2008 success. Who knew back when they were donating $750 million for hope and change that it would turn out so dismally?

Sarah Palin: We Will Not Let America Sink Into Further Debt. Stand Tall, America. Nov Is Coming!

Monday, March 22, 2010 0 Responses
We’ve been reminded many times that elections have consequences. Yesterday we saw the consequence of voting for those who believe in “fundamentally transforming” America whether we want it or not. Yesterday they voted. In November, we get to vote. We won’t forget what we saw yesterday. Congress passed a bill while Americans said “no,” and thousands of everyday citizens even surrounded the Capital Building to beg them not to do it. Has there ever been a more obvious exhibition of a detached and imperious government?
In the weeks to come, we can expect them to try to change the subject, but we won’t forget. Don't let them move on to further “transformational” steps while forgetting what Congress just did against the will of the people. Though Obamacare will inflict billions in new taxes on individuals and employers, at least it creates some jobs: the IRS might have to hire as many as 16,000 new employees to enforce all the new taxes and penalties the bill calls for! And that doesn’t include all the other government jobs from the 159 new agencies, panels, commissions and departments this bill will create. As the private sector shrinks, we can count on government to keep growing along with the deficits needed to keep it all afloat. (Is this the kind of “change” Americans asked for?)
In the end, this unsustainable bill jeopardizes the very thing it was supposed to fix – our health care system. Somewhere along the way we forgot that health care reform is about doctors and patients, not the IRS and politicians. Instead of helping doctors with tort reform, this bill has made primary care physicians think about getting out of medicine. It was supposed to make health care more affordable, but our premiums will continue to go up. It was supposed to help more people get coverage, but there will still be 23 million uninsured people by 2019.
Though they’d like us to forget, we will remember the corrupt deals, the corrupt process, the lack of transparency, the deceptive gimmicks to game the CBO score, and the utter disregard for the will of the American people. Elections have consequences, and we won’t forget those who promised to hold firm against government funding of abortion, but caved at the last minute in exchange for a non-binding executive order promised by the most pro-abortion president to ever occupy the White House.
All along we’ve said that we want real health care reform, but this isn’t it. We mustn’t be discouraged now. We must look to November when our goal will be to rebuke big government’s power grab, reject this unwanted “transformation” of America, and repeal dangerous portions of Obamacare that will bury us under more Big Government control.
This is just the beginning of our efforts to take back our country. Consider yesterday’s vote a clarion call and a spur to action. We will not let America sink into further debt without a fight. We will not abandon the American dream to government dependency, fewer freedoms and less opportunity. Change is made at the ballot box. If we work together, we can renew our optimistic pioneering spirit, revive our economy, and restore constitutional limits.
Stand tall, America. November is coming!

GOP (Sarah Palin) Response To Obama’s Health Care Summit Hannity 9pm

Thursday, February 25, 2010 0 Responses
With a government-growing proposal this bad, it’s no wonder the President wants bipartisan cover for it in an election year. Thursday’s health care summit is already being revealed as little more than a photo-op. The Obama administration still denies the existence of the House Republicans’ health care plan that offers alternative solutions to health care challenges – even though the White House website links right to it
The President’s proposal doesn’t include pro-free market ideas like allowing people to buy insurance across state lines, giving individual buyers the same tax benefits as those who get insurance through their employers, or instituting real medical liability reform. Despite the “kumbaya” rhetoric, Democrats are making plans to ram this bill through the Senate using a partisan procedural maneuver that will bypass the normal bipartisan debate process.
In the meantime, the White House will continue to ignore Republican reform ideas and cast the GOP as the party of no. That’s a hard sell considering that Democrats still hold the majority in the House and Senate. The only real “gridlock” preventing Democrats from doing what they want is the very real threat of America's voice being heard at the ballot box.
The public is clearly opposed to the Democrats’ health care bills. Americans want to scrap these big-government plans and start over with common-sense, incremental reform. Some on the left have urged Democrats to vote for Obamacare because it’s a foot in the door for universal health care. They understand what’s at stake; so should the rest of us.
The President can perfume this proposal however he wants, but it still doesn’t pass the smell test. Washington should listen to Americans now, or Washington will hear us in November.

The Real Sarah Palin

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 1 Response
Skip Coryell, of Human Events, wrote an interesting and very telling piece on Sarah Palin.  I have met Sarah Palin several times and Skips experience is quite accurate.  I even sat next to her, at a McCain/Palin fundraising dinner, and she truly is the perfect example of a citizen politician with amazing abilities. After the fundraiser Sarah Palin called to thank me and it was not her assistant or secretary that placed the call but her directly.  Unlike most politicians, I feel she does not make every decision on wether or not it will help her career but driven by what she feels is best or is the right thing to do.  For example, her decision to campaign for John McCain is Sarah Palin at her best and it is called loyalty.  Another example is resigning as governor.  Nearly all politicians would not even think of resigning because it would not be in the best interest of their all important careers.  That is not Sarah Palin but the selfless act of resigning is.  Liberals or Progressive cannot even begin to understand this because they believe people are inherently bad or evil and expect their leaders to be dishonest.  The Real Sarah Palin:
I got a letter in the mail last week. It was from Sarah Palin. I wasn’t expecting it.  After all, I don’t even know her.  But, nonetheless, there it was, lying in my mailbox, a letter from Wasilla, Alaska, the office of Sarah Palin. I’ve gotten mail from lots of famous politicians in my time: George W. Bush, John McCain, George H.W. Bush, and even from Ronald Reagan himself. But all of them had two things in common:  1) They had no idea who I was, and, 2) They were asking me for money.
So I opened this letter expecting a plea for much-needed funds to advance the TEA Party agenda or to help stop the Obama socialist juggernaut from sweeping across the land like a swarm of locusts, consuming everything moral and good in its path. But Sarah from Wasilla surprised me. It was a personal letter. It said:

“Dear Skip, Thank you so much for the copies of your books and for your generosity. Todd and I were happy to receive your encouraging message and we appreciate your thoughtfulness for taking the time to write. God bless you. Thank you again and all the best to you and your family. Sincerely, Sarah Palin”
The signature was in blue ink and very impressive. I could tell she was an “A” student in school. My wife is like that too.  But there it was, a personal letter from the most popular/notorious woman in America. It was short, but still, it was personal.
As you know, I’m the Founder of the Second Amendment March, and I had written Sarah asking her to speak at our event on April 19th, 2010 in Washington D.C. The letter was hand-delivered to her house by our Alaska State Coordinator along with signed copies of all my books. (That’s right. I was sucking up to her. I figured it couldn’t hurt.)
I’m a die-hard conservative, and when I think of Sarah Palin, I shiver with both excitement and dread. You see, I read Sarah’s book Going Rogue and was very impressed. Here was a real person, a real American, with real God-fearing American values and she was in politics to boot. It excites me because I want to believe she is the real thing. It terrifies me because few people ever go to DC without being corrupted. And America just can’t afford to have another hero go bad.  […]
Every two weeks I meet with my Second Amendment March State Coordinators via teleconference and we plan and talk about the April 19th event. A few weeks ago we were talking about the possibility of Sarah speaking at our march and I asked Len Betts, our Alaska Coordinator, if he’d seen her. The conversation went something like this:
Skip: “Len, have you seen Sarah Palin lately?”
Len: “Sure, saw her at the grocery store just yesterday.”
Skip: “What! You’re kidding me! Sarah Palin buys her own groceries!”
Len:  “Of course. Sarah hasn’t changed. She’s still just like the rest of us. She’s not all snooty and she still talks to people just like she always did.” […]
I believe that Sarah Palin is real. But the million-dollar question is: can she stay that way? For now, I’m filled with faith and hope. But then, I also believe in duty and honor and the strong serving the weak. I believe in Camelot.Sarah from Wasilla -- don’t let me down.
Editors Note: Please visit secondamendmentmarch.com to get information for the national march and your local march. The national march is April 19th. - Thanks!

Only Fools Doubt Sarah Palin & Her Loyalty To John McCain

Sunday, January 24, 2010 4 Responses
Thank God for Sarah Palin.  She is without a doubt the leader of the growing conservative movement.  It certainly is not Pawlenty, Huckabee, Romney or Newt.  Although I would support whomever gets the GOP nomination, we should primarily back the candidate that has both superior executive experience (running a government) and the ability to excite & rally a large number of supporters.
If you agree or not Sarah Palin is the top of the list.  Of those with actual governing experience, Romney, Huckabee, Palin, Giuliani, Perry and Pawlenty, only one that can easily fill a stadium.  Romeny certainly has great business experience but his time as MA governor is not impressive.  Giuliani, Perry and Pawlenty have all done a great job for their states but cannot excite & rallying large numbers like Sarah Palin.

The new kid on the block, Scott Brown, has some excitement behind him but legislative experience is simply not executive experience.   We see this with Newt, McCain, Hillary, and of course Obama & Biden.  None of them have run a government and are not or should not be qualified to be President.  The job is to important to even take a small chance like we did with the disaster Obama/Biden.  Millions of morons voted based on emotion & skin color and not on a strong or correct resume.

All candidates should be required to pass a litmus test which means being fiscally conservative and actual executive experience (running a government), along with meeting all the Constitutional requirements: NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Despite what the opposition whats us to believe Sarah Palin does have more than a decade of experience as mayor of a town, manager of the AK oil & gas commission, running the Alaskan government and starting/owning 2 small business.  Together with a massive following their is no other candidate.

I am also pleased to see Sarah Palin sticking to her word and, above all, demonstrating her strong sense of loyalty by backing John McCain.  Like it or not John McCain is, if not directly, indirectly responsible for the resurgence of the conservative or Tea Party movement. The main factors behind the Conservative movement are Obama & his polices, Sarah Palin & her amazingly influential voice and the lefts control of the media & Congress.  Without John McCain’s VP choice of Sarah Palin and Obama’s assault on America & our Constitution we would not be winning our country back.

The resurgence of conservative ideals and the cleansing of the GOP of weak, damaging and wishy-washy RINOs is in-part because of the biggest RINO of them all John McCain.

We are blessed to have Governor Sarah Palin, a principled women of strong character and loyalty, fighting for us.

Sarah Palin Explained her support of John McCain in this interview: In Sarah's own words on McCain's conservatism:

On media attacks: “I'm able to set it aside and I do have thick skin and always have. It's not that difficult for me to keep things in the right perspective. Americans are taking real shots out there. Not political words that sting for a minute.”

Says biggest lesson she's learned is you “can't pick a fight with those who buy ink by the barrel full. They are going to say what they want to say, spin it how they want to spin it. This is where my faith becomes even more important to me. I have to have faith that our words, our message will get there to the American people minus the filter of the mainstream media.” Says voters need to be able to contrast the two tickets on policy, strong family values.

On McCain's conservatism: Says she thinks McCain is on board with the Republican platform “from the bottom of my heart. I'm such a strong believer that McCain believes in those planks.” Says they do discuss the details of policy in their private conversations, he doesn't want a VP who will check their opinions at the door. “Americans know that John McCain is solidly there on the solid planks of our platform that will build the right America.”

On polling showing an uphill race: Says she's not discouraged at all. “I have found myself over and over again in my life being putting in these underdog situations” and it always worked out fine. “It motivates us, makes us work that much harder, strengthens my faith.” Says the election is in “God's hands” and she knows the right thing will happen November 4.

Also talks about Trig, abortion, Joe the Plumber, etc.

Sarah Palin: Once Again Driving The Debate This Time On The Dollar

Tuesday, October 13, 2009 0 Responses
James Pethokoukis wrote a very interesting article for Reuters The next big political issue? The U.S. dollar:
The state of the dollar probably hasn’t been a first-tier political issue in the United States since, say, the presidential election of 1896. Back then, it manifested as whether or not America would stay on the gold standard or switch to a bimetallic one. (The William Jennings Bryan “cross of gold” speech and all that.)

The aftershocks of the global financial crisis may now be propelling the dollar back to the political forefront. The greenback’s continuing slide makes it a handy metric that neatly encapsulates America’s current economic troubles and possible long-term decline. House Republicans for instance, have been using the weaker dollar as a weapon in their attacks on the Bernanke-led Federal Reserve.

For more evidence of the dollar’s return to political salience, look no further than the Facebook page of Sarah Palin. The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee — and possible 2012 presidential candidate — has shown a knack for identifying hot-button political issues, such as the purported “death panels” she claims to have found in Democratic healthcare reform plans. In a recent Facebook posting, Palin expressed deep concern over the dollar’s “continued viability as an international reserve currency” in light of huge U.S. budget deficits.

She might be onto something here, politically and economically. A recent Rasmussen poll, for instance, found that 88 percent of Americans say the dollar should remain the dominant global currency. Now, the average voter may not fully understand the subtleties of international finance nor appreciate exactly how a dominant dollar has benefited the U.S economy. But they sure think a weaker dollar is a sign of a weaker America.

And that’s the political problem for the Obama administration. Its benign neglect of the dollar is another example of an economic policy — along with TARP and the $787 billion stimulus — that the White House thinks is helping the economy, but many Americans find wrongheaded.

In his New York Times column today, Paul Krugman makes the usual case for a weaker dollar: It helps U.S. exporters and is a necessary part of a global economic rebalancing. And there is some truth in that, particularly the idea that Rising Asia will result in a less-dominant dollar. Then again, a devalued currency hasn’t exactly been a proven path to prosperity. (Ask Jimmy Carter.)

But Krugman too easily dismisses the idea that the dollar’s decline could tumble out of control. Former Clinton economic officials such as Robert Rubin and Roger Altman have been making the case that investor concern about budget deficits could lead them to abandon the dollar. As Altman argued in a Financial Times op-ed piece today: “The dismal deficit outlook poses a huge longer-term threat. Indeed, it is just a matter of time before global financial markets reject this fiscal trajectory. That could lead to a punishing dollar crisis.”
Now many Democrats and liberals, like Krugman, don’t want to hear such talk, fearing a rerun of the Clinton era when the progressive policy agenda was sacrificed on the altar of budgetary rectitude.
But that is a tremendous political and economic gamble, one that may result in taunting Republican cries of “Who lost the dollar?”

POLITICO: Sarah Palin Most Loved By GOP & Hottest Political Star

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 0 Responses

Michael Falcone, from Politico.com, wrote a very nice piece on Governor Palin, Republican base still wild about Sarah Palin:

Despite a torrent of criticism from the media, Democrats and even some in her own party, Sarah Palin remains the hottest brand name in politics.

Her recent resignation was perplexing. It’s raised doubts about her viability as a potential presidential candidate. Still, she remains extremely popular with the GOP grass roots, and most Republican Party leaders would jump at the chance to have her headline one of their events.  That’s the picture that emerges from interviews with dozens of GOP state and local leaders from across the country.

As part of an effort to gauge Palin’s popularity with the rank and file beyond the Beltway, where the GOP establishment is lukewarm toward the charismatic former governor, Politico surveyed nearly 50 prominent Republican Party officials and politicians, representing every region of the country and ranging from statewide-elected officeholders to state legislators to state and county party chairs.  The states inculded in the the surveyed included, Florida, North Carolina, DC, Pennsylvania, New York, Iowa, Minnesota, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Montana and Arizona.

Some refused to talk about her at all. Others, mostly her critics, would do so only off the record. But taken as a whole, the body of interviews revealed that despite Palin’s high negative ratings in recent national polls, Republicans at the grass-roots level and their leaders still hold a very favorable impression of the former Alaska governor.  Westerners have a particular affinity for Palin, with many noting that she embodied the values of freedom and self-reliance.

Dissecting Gov Palin’s 2012 Candidacy (Palin - Giuliani 2012)

Monday, September 28, 2009 4 Responses
As more and more of the country is realizing Obama is a communist and a monumental disaster, dreams of 2010 and 2012 are vivid and nightly.  Race for 2008 posted its analysis of each candidate on domestic and foreign policy.  I included their analysis on Governor Palin and Mayor Giuliani, since I think they would make a great team. I do not believe he is a RINO, they have similar political styles and they are friends.  You can also check-out their analysis on Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Tom Ridge, Mike Huckabee, Gary Johnson and Ron Paul.

Foreign Policy
The majority of the 2012 candidates fall in line with the Republican party principles of free trade and first strike defense policy.  Although the flexible response/non-interventionist voice remains loud and active, it continues to be a shrinking philosophy within the party.

Sarah Palin – Has continued to surround herself with the neoconservative intelligentsia and recently outlined her foreign policy axiom in a speech to the investor community in Hong Kong.  Palin has always been a strong proponent of free trade, moving Alaska towards an export driven economy during her term as Governor. Palin has displayed flexibility on the issue of immigration and remains steadfast on the neocon approach to terrorism, the Afghan mission and missile defense.
Rudy Giuliani – The former Mayor of the most diverse city in the world has continued his engagement of the global community through his private sector work in the areas of business and security.  Rudy is a vocal proponent of first strike defense measures and free trade.

Domestic Policy
The party hierarchy and grassroots appear ready to move beyond the era of compassionate conservatism.  The divide in the Republican party has morphed from solely an ideological one (moderate versus conservative) to a battle between the establishment and anti-establishment.  This has made for some strange bedfellows in our party leadership and is reflected in the positioning the 2012 candidates have taken on domestic policy.

Sarah Palin - Is the most prominent example of the modern conservatism blend of western libertarianism and social conservatism.  Palin opposes activism of any type at the federal level, whether it is economic or judicial policy.  Palin has vocally opposed the expansion of federal powers in the areas of health care, the federal reserve, spending, taxation and environmental regulation.  As Governor, Palin turned a dire fiscal situation into a stable future and became a leading voice on expanding domestic energy development.
Rudy Giuliani -  In 2008, he campaigned on the providing taxpayers with the largest tax cut in American history.  Rudy received support from many members of the Club for Growth and Wall Street financiers.  Although Rudy committed to nominating federal Judges that would strictly interpret the constitution, his views on abortion, gay rights and federal funding of embryonic stem cell research are moderate to the majority views in the Republican party.  Rudy has a strong record on law and order issues from his two terms as Mayor of New York City.

WSJ: Palin On China “Ideas Worth Listening To, Obama Could Take A Page From This Book”

Wednesday, September 23, 2009 0 Responses

Sarah Palin was pounded by the media as a foreign-policy novice during last year's presidential campaign. But when it comes to the U.S. approach toward China, she has ideas worth listening to.

"Twenty years ago, many believed that as China liberalized its economy, greater political freedom would naturally follow," the former Alaska governor and Republican nominee for the vice presidency told a Hong Kong audience yesterday. "Unfortunately that has not come to pass."

[...]

The solution, she argues, is to encourage political change from within China—a movement that regained momentum last year with the launch of Charter 08, a democratic manifesto.

Such developments, she argued, are in everyone's interest. "The more politically open and just China is, the more Chinese citizens of every ethnicity will settle disputes in courts rather than on the streets," she said. The more open China is, "the less we will be concerned about its military buildup and intentions."

[...]

Mrs. Palin also espoused the value of alliances with like-minded democratic countries in the region such as Japan, Australia and India. The U.S. "can, must and should" work with China to address issues of "mutual concern," she said. "But we also need to work with our allies in addressing the uncertainties created by China's rise."

The Obama Administration could take a page from this book. So far, the White House has gone out of its way to downplay human rights in China and tiptoe around recent crackdowns in Tibet and Xinjiang, preferring to focus on hipper issues like climate change. This "don't ask, don't tell" approach to Beijing does no favors to the Chinese people, much less to the West's core interests in Asia. At the same time, America's other alliances in the region have been largely ignored.

Gov Palin Dominates 2nd Straw Poll 55%, Romney 15% & Huckabee 10%

Tuesday, September 22, 2009 1 Response

Governor Palin easily handles Politico's Straw Poll: Who should have won the presidential straw poll at the Values Voter Summit? by a very very wide margin.  The Governor took a overwhelming majority of 55% to Governor Romney’s 15% and Governor Huckabee’s 10%. A total of 24,046 votes were cast.

Politico created this poll to demostrate that in a controlled environment, like the Values Voter Summit, poll results can be skewed in anyones favor.  The Summit was attended by Romney, Huckabee and Pawlenty along with many of their supporters and, as expected, the Values Voter Summit poll was in their favor.  I also recall problems with the 2009 CPAC  presidential poll. Romney supporters voted often and frequently before CPAC officials caught on, 24 hours later, and changed the registration rule to only a single vote per person.

Governor Sarah Palin Targeting The 'All Evil Media' In Hong Kong

Monday, September 21, 2009 0 Responses

Hong Kong — Governor Sarah Palin is expected to speak about US foreign policy and China in her first keynote speech outside North America, Hong Kong organizers said on Monday.

The Governor is due to address hundreds of financial big-hitters at the CLSA Investors' Forum on Wednesday.  "We have asked her to address US foreign policy, to discuss her views on governance, healthcare, and of course, China," Jonathan Slone, chief executive officer of the Asia-focused brokerage.

Palin was chosen to speak since she's the front running Republican candidate in the next US presidential election and because of her influential role in politics, he said.

But CLSA, an arm of French bank Credit Agricole, decided to close Palin's session to the media after the former Alaska governor indicated that she would have to adjust her speech if reporters were present, Slone said.  "We are very pleased with her attitude towards us. Sarah could have come here and made a media circus," he said.

"But we said to her, 'Look, we want you to give the most information to our clients. Do you feel comfortable doing that with the press around?'  "She said, 'If I do that with the press in the room, I will have to say different things.'"

Slone said they decided to close the event to media because the primary objective of the annual forum was to let their clients get hold of as much industry-related information from the speakers as possible.  He said they had had many closed-door sessions in previous years for the same reason.

The reality is the media has become the most anti-American entity on the plant and they should  not even be called the media.  They are strictly agenda driven (socialist) and continue  to cover  for the disaster Obama and radical Islam.  Their destruction would be the best thing for the American and the world.  Let's hope Governor Palin goes for the Media's jugular.

Past speakers at the annual CLSA event include US president Bill Clinton, Clinton's vice-president Al Gore and ex-Federal Reserve chief Alan Greenspan.  The Governor will be speaking in Hong Kong on the 23rd of September.

Governor Palin's Letter To Obama: Very Concerned About Afghan Strategy

Monday, September 07, 2009 0 Responses

Washington, DC – A distinguished group of Americans active in the foreign policy debate expressed support today for the U.S. effort in Afghanistan, and called upon President Obama to continue to provide the necessary resources requested by his commanders on the ground to ensure success. In an open letter organized by the Foreign Policy Initiative (FPI), the group offered its appreciation for the president’s decision earlier this year to deploy 21,000 additional U.S. troops to the country, and urged him to continue to properly resource the war effort. Given increasing public concern about the U.S. commitment in Afghanistan, the letter also suggests that the President make it a priority to explain to the American people why it is important to remain committed to winning in Afghanistan, and why such a victory is feasible.

The letter’s signatories write: “The situation in Afghanistan is grave and deteriorating…Since the announcement of your administration’s new strategy, we have been troubled by calls for a drawdown of American forces in Afghanistan and a growing sense of defeatism about the war. With General McChrystal expected to request additional troops later this month, we urge you to continue on the path you have taken thus far and give our commanders on the ground the forces they need to implement a successful counterinsurgency strategy. There is no middle course. Incrementally committing fewer troops than required would be a grave mistake and may well lead to American defeat. We will not support half-measures that repeat the errors of the past.”

The letter’s signers so far are: Steve Biegun, Max Boot, Paul Bremer, Christian Brose, Debra Burlingame, Eliot A. Cohen, Ryan C. Crocker, Thomas Donnelly, Eric Edelman, William S. Edgerly, Jamie M. Fly, David Frum, Abe Greenwald, John Hannah, Pete Hegseth, Margaret Hoover, Thomas Joscelyn, Frederick W. Kagan, Robert Kagan, William Kristol, Tod Lindberg, Herbert London, Clifford May, Robert C. Pawlenty: Governor Palin A Remarkable Leader

Monday, September 07, 2009 1 Response

I don't view Palin as a competitor for anything, says Pawlenty From CNN Associate Producer Martina Stewart

(CNN) – Minnesota’s Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who was a contender for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, said Sunday that he does not view himself as being in competition with his party’s most recent vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Asked about his own 2012 plans, Pawlenty was coy and judicious, suggesting that his recent travels to many states likely to be important in the next White House race were because of his duties as the vice chair of the Republican Governors Association.

“Part of my responsibility,” Pawlenty told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King on Sunday’s State of the Union, “is to travel the country when appropriate, as time allows, to help Republican candidates for governor get elected or re elected. So that’s part of it. And, as time allows, I’m going to speak to issues that I think my party needs to improve on – both here in Minnesota and nationally. I believe that’s an important opportunity and responsibility.”

But Pawlenty was clear that he does not view himself as competing with Gov. Palin. The Alaska Governor is “a friend,” Pawlenty told King, “I don’t view her as somebody who’s a competitor for anything. I view her as a teammate.”Pressed on his view of himself relative to Palin, Pawlenty reiterated, “I view her as a friend. And I think she’s somebody who has been a remarkable and strong leader in Alaska under difficult circumstances. I don’t know what the future holds for her.”

Pawlenty also appeared to hold no ill will over Sen. John McCain’s reported decision to pick Gov. Palin over Gov. Pawlenty for the vice presidential nod on last year’s Republican ticket. “I’m a huge fan of Sen. McCain. I think he made the choice he felt was right for not only his ticket but for the country in the circumstances of the time,” said Pawlenty. The Minnesota Republican added that he thought McCain made the right in choosing Palin as his running mate.

Popular Palin: 120+ Political Campaign & 950+ Speaking Engagement Invitations

Monday, August 31, 2009 0 Responses

Mike Allen, at the Politico, reported that Governor Palin has received 1,070 invitation since her resignation as the governor of Alaska. Pretty impressive and, of course, the MSM will naturally do its best to ignore this news.

This is an important piece of news because the MSM so enjoys attacking Gov Palin at every opportunity. For Example, it was reported that Gov Palin was invited to and will attend the GOP Senate Fundraiser, The Simi Valley Republican Women’s Club and The Change Point Church in Anchorage. Each of these organizations were so enthusiastic about having Gov Palin attend their event they prematurely jump-the-gun and announced that she has been invited and has confirmed. Texas For Sarah Palin also reported that some organizations knowingly lie about inviting Gov Palin simply for self promotion. The latest news about Gov Palin traveling to Asia in September is only news until Gov Palin publicly confirms this event. The MSM naturally omits these facts and rushes to attack Gov with an amazing amount of exuberance. Gov Palin seems to be a victim of her own success and the MSM is, again, an embarrassment.

The MSM, including Gov Palin inspired sites such as HuffingtonPost.com and Dailykos.com (each dedicate 25% of there websites to Gov Palin), love inventing negative news about Palin when ever possible. Any attack on Gov Palin is really a sad attempt to protect the disaster and embarrassment that Obama is. So if you feel the need to respond to a disrespectful comment or an attack on Gov Palin simply reply with any number of facts demonstrating Obama is a disaster.

Gov Palin has also signed with the speakers’ bureau Washington Speakers Bureau, which also represents President George and The First Lady, Bob Woodward, Katie Couric, Alan Greenspan, Colin Powell and Rudy Giuliani. Gov Palin is also close to finishing her book, which is due out this spring from HarperCollins.
