Sarah Palin: We Will Not Let America Sink Into Further Debt. Stand Tall, America. Nov Is Coming!

Monday, March 22, 2010 0 Responses
We’ve been reminded many times that elections have consequences. Yesterday we saw the consequence of voting for those who believe in “fundamentally transforming” America whether we want it or not. Yesterday they voted. In November, we get to vote. We won’t forget what we saw yesterday. Congress passed a bill while Americans said “no,” and thousands of everyday citizens even surrounded the Capital Building to beg them not to do it. Has there ever been a more obvious exhibition of a detached and imperious government?
In the weeks to come, we can expect them to try to change the subject, but we won’t forget. Don't let them move on to further “transformational” steps while forgetting what Congress just did against the will of the people. Though Obamacare will inflict billions in new taxes on individuals and employers, at least it creates some jobs: the IRS might have to hire as many as 16,000 new employees to enforce all the new taxes and penalties the bill calls for! And that doesn’t include all the other government jobs from the 159 new agencies, panels, commissions and departments this bill will create. As the private sector shrinks, we can count on government to keep growing along with the deficits needed to keep it all afloat. (Is this the kind of “change” Americans asked for?)
In the end, this unsustainable bill jeopardizes the very thing it was supposed to fix – our health care system. Somewhere along the way we forgot that health care reform is about doctors and patients, not the IRS and politicians. Instead of helping doctors with tort reform, this bill has made primary care physicians think about getting out of medicine. It was supposed to make health care more affordable, but our premiums will continue to go up. It was supposed to help more people get coverage, but there will still be 23 million uninsured people by 2019.
Though they’d like us to forget, we will remember the corrupt deals, the corrupt process, the lack of transparency, the deceptive gimmicks to game the CBO score, and the utter disregard for the will of the American people. Elections have consequences, and we won’t forget those who promised to hold firm against government funding of abortion, but caved at the last minute in exchange for a non-binding executive order promised by the most pro-abortion president to ever occupy the White House.
All along we’ve said that we want real health care reform, but this isn’t it. We mustn’t be discouraged now. We must look to November when our goal will be to rebuke big government’s power grab, reject this unwanted “transformation” of America, and repeal dangerous portions of Obamacare that will bury us under more Big Government control.
This is just the beginning of our efforts to take back our country. Consider yesterday’s vote a clarion call and a spur to action. We will not let America sink into further debt without a fight. We will not abandon the American dream to government dependency, fewer freedoms and less opportunity. Change is made at the ballot box. If we work together, we can renew our optimistic pioneering spirit, revive our economy, and restore constitutional limits.
Stand tall, America. November is coming!

The Real Sarah Palin

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 1 Response
Skip Coryell, of Human Events, wrote an interesting and very telling piece on Sarah Palin.  I have met Sarah Palin several times and Skips experience is quite accurate.  I even sat next to her, at a McCain/Palin fundraising dinner, and she truly is the perfect example of a citizen politician with amazing abilities. After the fundraiser Sarah Palin called to thank me and it was not her assistant or secretary that placed the call but her directly.  Unlike most politicians, I feel she does not make every decision on wether or not it will help her career but driven by what she feels is best or is the right thing to do.  For example, her decision to campaign for John McCain is Sarah Palin at her best and it is called loyalty.  Another example is resigning as governor.  Nearly all politicians would not even think of resigning because it would not be in the best interest of their all important careers.  That is not Sarah Palin but the selfless act of resigning is.  Liberals or Progressive cannot even begin to understand this because they believe people are inherently bad or evil and expect their leaders to be dishonest.  The Real Sarah Palin:
I got a letter in the mail last week. It was from Sarah Palin. I wasn’t expecting it.  After all, I don’t even know her.  But, nonetheless, there it was, lying in my mailbox, a letter from Wasilla, Alaska, the office of Sarah Palin. I’ve gotten mail from lots of famous politicians in my time: George W. Bush, John McCain, George H.W. Bush, and even from Ronald Reagan himself. But all of them had two things in common:  1) They had no idea who I was, and, 2) They were asking me for money.
So I opened this letter expecting a plea for much-needed funds to advance the TEA Party agenda or to help stop the Obama socialist juggernaut from sweeping across the land like a swarm of locusts, consuming everything moral and good in its path. But Sarah from Wasilla surprised me. It was a personal letter. It said:

“Dear Skip, Thank you so much for the copies of your books and for your generosity. Todd and I were happy to receive your encouraging message and we appreciate your thoughtfulness for taking the time to write. God bless you. Thank you again and all the best to you and your family. Sincerely, Sarah Palin”
The signature was in blue ink and very impressive. I could tell she was an “A” student in school. My wife is like that too.  But there it was, a personal letter from the most popular/notorious woman in America. It was short, but still, it was personal.
As you know, I’m the Founder of the Second Amendment March, and I had written Sarah asking her to speak at our event on April 19th, 2010 in Washington D.C. The letter was hand-delivered to her house by our Alaska State Coordinator along with signed copies of all my books. (That’s right. I was sucking up to her. I figured it couldn’t hurt.)
I’m a die-hard conservative, and when I think of Sarah Palin, I shiver with both excitement and dread. You see, I read Sarah’s book Going Rogue and was very impressed. Here was a real person, a real American, with real God-fearing American values and she was in politics to boot. It excites me because I want to believe she is the real thing. It terrifies me because few people ever go to DC without being corrupted. And America just can’t afford to have another hero go bad.  […]
Every two weeks I meet with my Second Amendment March State Coordinators via teleconference and we plan and talk about the April 19th event. A few weeks ago we were talking about the possibility of Sarah speaking at our march and I asked Len Betts, our Alaska Coordinator, if he’d seen her. The conversation went something like this:
Skip: “Len, have you seen Sarah Palin lately?”
Len: “Sure, saw her at the grocery store just yesterday.”
Skip: “What! You’re kidding me! Sarah Palin buys her own groceries!”
Len:  “Of course. Sarah hasn’t changed. She’s still just like the rest of us. She’s not all snooty and she still talks to people just like she always did.” […]
I believe that Sarah Palin is real. But the million-dollar question is: can she stay that way? For now, I’m filled with faith and hope. But then, I also believe in duty and honor and the strong serving the weak. I believe in Camelot.Sarah from Wasilla -- don’t let me down.
Editors Note: Please visit secondamendmentmarch.com to get information for the national march and your local march. The national march is April 19th. - Thanks!
