Governor Palin: Fire Eric Holder

Thursday, November 10, 2011 0 Responses
It’s tempting to get distracted with the horse race aspect of electoral politics during a primary season. But as pundits talk about “who’s up and who’s down” in the 24 hour news cycle, we must keep our eye on the ball with the Obama administration. They rely on distraction to skirt responsibility, but we’re going to hold them accountable for their corruption and incompetence.

When the stories about Operation Fast and Furious first broke, it sounded too crazy even for this administration.

Why would any government official with an ounce of common sense think it’s a good idea to facilitate the smuggling of thousands of guns into the hands of violent Mexican drug cartels? That’s what Operation Fast and Furious did.

You might think Eric Holder’s Department of Justice was setting up a sting operation in which our federal agents would swoop down and arrest the bad guys the minute the guns traded hands. But that’s not what happened. Eric Holder’s DOJ had American gun dealers sell weapons to “straw purchasers” tied to drug cartels without actually following the movement of the guns as they were then sold to Mexican drug lords. They apparently thought this so-called “gun-walking” operation would help them chart the path of gun smuggling, but they didn’t have a plan to actually control the weapons’ movements as the guns were allowed to “walk” into Mexico. All Holder’s DOJ did was arm violent criminals. What manner of fools do we have working in this administration? What’s next? Supplying nuclear weapons components to the Iranians so we can track their activities?

Fast and Furious isn’t just your typical government incompetence. This is a deadly tragedy. U.S. border agent Brian Terry was gunned down with weapons connected to Holder’s debacle. At least 200 Mexican citizens were also killed by criminals using Fast and Furious weapons. We can only imagine how many more people will be murdered by criminals our government armed.

When an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives blew the whistle on this operation, the DOJ leaked sensitive information about him to the press. This week, the former U.S. Attorney for Arizona, who was ousted in the wake of the scandal, admitted to being the leaker.

And where is President Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder in all of this? When did he first know about the operation? In his testimony to the House Oversight Committee on May 3, 2011, Holder stated, “I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.” But the DOJ’s own documents prove that Holder had been receiving briefings on Fast and Furious for nearly a year before that date. In other words, our government’s top law enforcement official, Eric Holder, lied to the American public. He finally admitted this week to the Senate Judiciary Committee, “In my testimony before the House committee [on May 3], I did say a few weeks. I probably could have said a couple of months. What I said about a few weeks was inaccurate based on what happened.”

When the nation’s highest law enforcement official lies to the American people, he must go.

And if he claims that he didn’t lie, then how else do we explain this situation? He’s either lying or he’s so grossly incompetent and lazy that he didn’t read important life and death briefings from his deputy attorney general and didn’t know about this deadly operation run by people under him. So, which is it? Incompetent, lazy, or lying? No matter which explanation fits, he needs to go.

Holder conceded this week, “I have ultimate responsibility for what happens in the department.” He can prove it by resigning. And if he refuses to resign, then President Obama – with whom the bucks ultimately stop – can prove that he respects honesty, transparency, and accountability in his administration by firing Holder.

I stand with the members of Congress who are calling for Holder’s resignation. I stand with the family members of Brian Terry who are demanding transparency and accountability. Mr. President, where do you stand?

- Sarah Palin

P.S. It can be argued that some elements of this scandal give the appearance of perhaps being intended to be used to infringe on our Second Amendment rights. I invite our President to correct concerned Americans if they’re wrong on this.

Gov Palin: Obama’s Hypocritical Lecture Poking Our Allies In The Eye Again

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 0 Responses
On Monday, during a fundraiser in California, President Obama declared that Europe’s debt problems and their inability to solve them was “scaring the world.” He went on to explain that Europeans “have not fully healed from the crisis back in 2007 and never fully dealt with the challenges that their banking system faced” and that “they’re trying to take responsible actions, but those actions haven’t been quite as quick as they need to be.”

This of course is coming from a President who has done nothing to deal with our own country’s enormous debt crisis and who is in fact eager to incur even more debt with another useless stimulus bill (now called a “jobs bill” though the last stimulus failed to produce the jobs it promised, which is perhaps why Harry Reid doesn’t seem too eager to bring this new bill to a vote despite the President’s demands to “pass this bill”). Yes, Europe has serious debt problems, but for President Obama to be lecturing our allies about not being “quite as quick” in dealing with a debt crisis is downright hypocritical.

When his all-too-common finger-pointing is directed at Republicans, President Obama’s search for a scapegoat is swallowed as merely the typical Beltway politics of our permanent political class. But pointing fingers at our allies when they are working to get their own financial house in order is counterproductive and can have a serious negative affect on our ability to lead the free world.

One German newspaper denounced the President’s comments as “overbearing, arrogant, and absurd.” Another wrote: “The gloomy state of the economy is putting a damper on Obama’s future prospects. The optimism of the past is gone, replaced by a cheap search for a scapegoat.” And still another wrote: “That’s not how friends talk to each other. That applies particularly to friends who have themselves failed to get a handle on their own, self-made crisis.”

Can we blame them for feeling this way? Keep in mind this was a President who was supposed to make the rest of the world “like” us again.

It’s about time the President showed some leadership and took responsibility rather than campaigning on blaming everyone else for the financial mess his policies have exacerbated.

Between President Obama’s hypocritical lecture poking our allies in the eye again and one Democrat governor’s call to postpone lawfully mandated elections for two years, I suppose nothing should surprise concerned Americans anymore. But that doesn’t mean we have to accept these misguided memes. 2012 can’t come soon enough.

(Translation) Gov Palin To Keynote World Knowledge Forum, South Korea ‘Global Economic Crisis’

Sunday, September 25, 2011 0 Responses
American female leader, representing the conservative camp, & Republican U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin to attend the World Knowledge Forum (www.wkforum.org) and visit South Korea for the 1st time. Republican VP candidate in 2008 presidential election was appointed to the conservative grassroots movement in the United States, she leads the 'Tea Party' movement and has given rise to new life to American politics. America has fallen into a new crisis and she will discuss ho the U.S. is expected to lead & presently lacks leadership. This  is the 12-year anniversary of the 2011 World Knowledge Forum and this year the topic is `New Economy crisis (The New Crisis)`
A global leader in the world with over 250 people in 40 countries after the crisis in the global competitive environment has changed completely to win acumen and insight to offer.
Gordon Brown, former British Prime Minister, Minister of Trade kareol deuhwiheuteu EU heads of state, as well as former and incumbent Michael Saendel of Harvard University, Yale professor Amy Chua (Tiger Mom Author), Strobe Talbot, such as the Brookings Institute scholars emerged. The chairman of Toshiba Ahsseutosi Nishida, Tom Alba needs of industry magnates, such as Rio Tinto chairman to the chongchuldong.
◇ Date and Location = October 11 to 13 Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel
◇  Registration  = Online registration only (www.wkforum.org)
◇ Organizer daily economic newspaper MBN
◇ "Lack of political leadership, called the global economic crisis"
◇  presidential candidate Sarah Palin keynote World Knowledge Forum
The next generation of political leaders and solutions to the global crisis.
The crisis is deja-vu. The recent world economic crisis of 1937 looks very much like todays crisis. In 1937 FDR began "The New Deal" in an attempt to recover from 'The Great Depression'.
But the effective of 'The New Deal' policies and high fiscal deficits with loose money policy prolonged the economic crisis. After this action the global economy fell in "The Great Depression". After the recent global economic crisis, and austerity policies of the United States high budget deficit can be blamed. The global economy will most likely go into long-term downturn.
But the bigger problem of global leadership in the United States is represented by Obama. Since 2008, which had seemed to survive again in an instant, the world economy because the U.S. had inept leadership is shaky at best. Barack Obama's "America one of the safest countries in the world," remark had the opposite effect on the global markets.
Recently the Financial Times (FT) said: "weal global financial markets because of insecurity in the United States is a major dilemma."
For the U.S. economy to emerge from recession a stimulus is needed, but the elimination excessive deficit should be the main focus.
The 'Stimulus' and a third 'quantitative easing' is intended to enhance the financial soundness of 'austerity policies' but no matter what choices to resolve the situation is not easy.
Tightening monetary policies in the United States and in the global economy is a high priority but resistance is strong. Add the  energy crisis and high deficits risk the United States and globe falling into a deeper economic quagmire.
Global Leadership needed to diagnose the global crisis at The World Knowledge Forum in a special event a month ahead of the opening theme 'The New Crisis'  because of the US credit downgrade. The downgrade of the credit rating of the United States and the eurozone crisis is due to economic uncertainty and will be the main topic at The Forum.
World Knowledge Forum will explore the causes of the global economic crisis, lack of global leadership, the United States since the 2008 election.
One thing to which most nunyeogyeobwaya Sarah Palin is to attend the World Knowledge Forum. Sarah Palin the next U.S. presidential election, Republican presidential candidate, was one of the prime. Is regarded as America's next generation of leaders Sarah Palin as a hegemonic state in the U.S. and global leadership in space, I can tell you the best of the alternatives yeonsada. Yet that is not running for president to declare a state, but a recent TV appearance on "Late August or September until early presidential election to decide whether or not," he thought to tell you that running for president said. Palin in the 2008 election running for the Republican vice presidential candidate has to.
An assessment of Palin shows a the solid tend in increased popularity. Provoking controversy for her words and deeds with growing from voters to support. She currently has the highest favorability rating of 85%  of Republican candidates but has not officially declared.
Palin is a good representation to counter the so-called 'elites'.  An Indian economist at the University of Chicago Professor Rajan Raguram, at conference in Singapore, discussed 'The Elitist' and Sarah Palinisation of the word. Sarah Palin's message about how the the government and Wall Street have failed the American public. Our leaders are not trusted and we must instead must look to ordinary people, like Palin, has become a phenomenon. According to his words, Palin's popularity is simply about common sense. She does not represent the elites which have vested interests in the economy separate from most Americans.  Palin's strength of being ordinary, according to Professor Rajan, includes her daughter, at 18, becaming a mom, eldest son in Iraq and youngest son having Down syndrome: She Is An Ordinary American. And it is the power that made her a viable presidential candidate with lots of support.
She's a candidate for the next president election and is scheduled to open the ceremony as keynote speaker.  Speaking about the fall of U.S. hegemony in 'global leadership' and to overcome the absence of the role of the United States.
In the future, as a consequence of the United States lack of leadership in this crisis and future policies for the U.S. financial crisis will be discussed. The forum during the World Knowledge Forum in Korea will also discuss the presidential candidates, their plans to meet with influential South Korean politicians  and  the opportunity to avoid a global economic crisis.

Palin On Obama The Corrupt: O Pressured AF General To Change Testimony On Link To Major Dem Donor

Friday, September 16, 2011 0 Responses
UPDATE: Yet another shoe drops in the ongoing crony capitalism problems now engulfing the Obama administration. Yesterday, we learned that the the Obama White House allegedly pressured a four-star Air Force general to change his testimony about a company linked to a major Democrat donor.

In my recent speech in Iowa, some eyebrows were raised when I took on our government’s enormous economic problems caused by crony capitalism. As if on cue, just days later President Obama selected someone who exemplifies a major crony capitalism problem to sit next to the First Lady when he delivered his “jobs plan” speech before Congress. He selected General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt as his honored guest.

Having grown up with great respect for GE thanks to stories my grandfather shared with us about his days working for the company and even meeting GE spokesman-at-the-time Ronald Reagan during a company event, I am saddened at GE’s leadership evolution. This corporation is now the poster child of corporate welfare and crony capitalism.

This icon of American industry is a company full of good employees who make some good products (and is the parent company of a huge media outlet), but GE is also a large American corporation that pays virtually no corporate income taxes despite earning worldwide profits of $14.2 billion last year, $5.1 billion of it in the United States. In fact, they claimed a tax benefit of $3.2 billion, meaning they received more of our hard earned tax dollars than they contributed. How is that possible? It’s because not only do they shelter their money from taxes, but they also get many tax credits, loans, government grants, and other benefits from the federal government that our smaller businesses couldn’t even imagine being able to profit from.

Joining GE in the pantheon of crony capitalism is another Obama favorite that has been in the news of late: Solyndra. The President hailed this “green energy” company in a speech last May as “the true engine of economic growth.” When he announced the $535 million guarantee to Solyndra, Vice President Biden said that investments like this are “exactly what the Recovery Act is all about.” (Dear God…If the failed Solyndra venture has been what it’s “all about,” then that explains a lot.) As I pointed out in my speech at the Reagan Ranch Center last February: “History has proven again and again, when government picks the winners and losers, we’re stuck with the losers, and we the taxpayers subsidize failure!” And that’s what we’re seeing now, as the FBI raids the solar energy company’s headquarters to glean more information after the company was handed half a billion dollars in “green energy” Stimulus funds from the American taxpayer only to later declare bankruptcy. More than one thousand Solyndra workers lost their jobs. Now as the truth comes out, we discover that the White House was heavily involved in the Department of Energy’s rushed decision to give the Stimulus funds to Solyndra, and they tried to move the money through so quickly they seem to have ignored concerns that the company was not viable. Why would they do this? Perhaps it’s because a large investor in the company (about 35%) is Obama campaign bundler George Kaiser. And with the way the deal is structured, Kaiser will get his debts paid before we the taxpayers see any relief. That is sickening. And that’s how it works: workers lose their jobs, wealthy political cronies stand a good chance of getting their money back, and the U.S. taxpayer gets the shaft. Again.

President Obama has his sights set on raising $1 billion for his reelection campaign. Raising that money won’t be easy. But if you can hand out other people’s money to friends, it must get a whole lot easier. This crony capitalism and government waste is at the heart of our economic problems. It will destroy us if we don’t root it out. It’s not just a Democrat problem or a Republican problem. It’s a problem of our permanent political class. This won’t stop until “we the people” say enough is enough, and we retire the permanent political class that votes for this.

My President To O: On the Future of Libya

Thursday, August 25, 2011 0 Responses

We join the Libyan people in gratefulness as we hear of Col. Gaddafi’s defeat. The fall of a tyrant and sponsor of terrorism is a great day for freedom-loving people around the world. But the path to democracy in Libya is not complete, and we must make wise choices to ensure that our national interests are protected.

First, the White House needs to avoid triumphalism. Gaddafi may be gone, but the fighting may not be complete. As we’ve seen in Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, we must not celebrate too quickly. There are now mounting concerns that we will see tribal and sectarian fighting in Libya like we saw in Iraq. Let’s hope that is not the case, but it must be prepared for.

Second, we must be very concerned about the future government that will emerge to take Gaddafi’s place. History teaches that those with the guns usually prevail when a coalition overthrows a tyrant. We must remember that military power ultimately resides with the rebel commanders. This should be a source of some concern. The armed opposition to Gaddafi is an outgrowth of a group called Islamic Libya Fighting Group, and some rebel commanders admit that they have Al Qaeda links. The rebel fighters are from different tribes, and they have a variety of political views. Some are Islamists, some appear to favor some sort of western democracy. We should work through diplomatic means to help those who want democracy to come out on top.

That said, we should not commit U.S. troops or military assets to serve as peacekeepers or perform humanitarian missions or nation-building in Libya. Our military is already over-committed and strained, and a vaguely designed mission can be the first step toward a quagmire. The internal situation does not seem stable enough for U.S. forces to operate in a purely humanitarian manner without the possibility of coming under attack. Troop deployment to Libya would mean placing America’s finest in a potentially hostile zone that is not in our vital national security interest.

Finally, we must make sure that terrorist groups don’t try to co-opt the revolution, as Al Qaeda is trying to do in Syria. We should continue to use our intelligence assets to monitor the situation in Libya to ensure that potentially dangerous weapons are secured, and that terrorist organizations such as Al Qaeda don’t gain a foothold in Libya.

People of Libya, be vigilant. May this opportunity be used to build a free and peaceful country.

Message From My President: A Humbling Reminder of Our Duty

Monday, August 15, 2011 0 Responses
We spent a very moving day in Kansas City, Missouri, where it’s easy to remember what really matters, because here we have the National World War I Museum and Liberty Memorial.

The Liberty Memorial Tower is dedicated “In honor of those who served in the World War in defense of liberty and our country.” Reading the many memorial inscriptions while standing in the rain was a somber and humbling reminder of the sacrifices young Americans made nearly a century ago in distant battlefields so far from home. So many of them never returned from those fields in France and Belgium. Yes, it was a somber, real, significant moment reading those words about the honor in one’s dedication to God and country.

The main inscription on the memorial reads: “These have dared bear the torches of sacrifice and service. Their bodies return to dust but their work liveth evermore. Let us strive on to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.”

I took the above photo of Piper and my niece McKinley with the memorial in the background. It brought home to me what this “One Nation Tour” is about. It’s about the duty we have not just to the living, but also to the dead and to the generations yet to be born. Our founders called us the “heirs of freedom,” and as such we have a duty to those who have already paid the price for us to live in freedom, and we have a duty to those who will come after us.

Our freedom was purchased by millions of men now long-forgotten throughout our history who charged the cannons, ran into bayonets, suffered in the trenches, and gave their lives so that we could live in relative comfort doing what we feel led to do. We can’t squander what they gave us or what the next generation expects from us. This is why visiting these historic sites and bringing your children to see them is so important. This is why I wanted to bring my own children with me to show them our history and remind them that America’s children will carry the torch of freedom one day.

Now it’s back to Alaska for the start of the school year. (And, of course, our annual visit to our own state fair where Piper looks forward to clogging on the Blue Bonnet Stage!) While kids crack open their school books, I look forward to continuing my own writing and research on strategies and plans to help move our country forward.

We will be back on the road soon, for on September 3rd we’ve been invited to a big Tea Party “Restoring America” rally in Waukee, Iowa. We hope to see many of you there as we gather to discuss the direction of our country and the way forward with our fundamental restoration of all that is good and strong and free in America. You can click here for more information on the event.

Thank you all for your support and for sharing this leg through the Heartland of the “One Nation Tour” with us.

With an Alaskan heart,

Sarah Palin
