Foreword By Sarah Palin: All States Must Follow Alaska, PRI Analyze No. 1 Tort System In US

Sunday, June 06, 2010 0 Responses
My home state of Alaska offers incredible beauty, amazing wildlife, abundant natural resources, friendly people, and no individual income tax. Alaska also has the best tort climate in the United States according to the U.S. Tort Liability Index: 2010 Report from the Pacific Research Institute (PRI).
In this top-notch report, PRI scholars analyze the costs and risks of each state’s tort system and conclude that Alaska is best overall. The report, now in its third edition, has been influential because the rankings are based on hard data, not opinions or speculation. The data don’t lie and Alaska is number one for good reasons.
Alaska has the second-lowest monetary tort payouts of any state, controlling for the size of each state’s economy. Our tort costs are particularly low for businesses—another reason for entrepreneurs to locate here. We also have some of the lowest medical liability costs in the country. We appreciate doctors in Alaska and welcome them with open arms, not abusive lawsuits.
Alaska also boasts the lowest relative tort litigation risks of any state. The state may abound in moose but it doesn’t have any “judicial hellholes” skewed to personal injury lawyers. The state also doesn’t have huge outlier jury awards. Its tort caseload is third-lowest in the country and it’s not flooded with lawyers. We practice the rule of law, not the rule of lawyers as in other states.
Alaska’s great tort climate is good for business and for all my fellow Alaskans. As the U.S. Tort Liability Index demonstrates, states with sound civil-justice systems and fair tort rules enjoy lower insurance premiums, increased employment and output, and higher individual incomes. A sound civil-justice system also expands the tax base, yields greater innovation, and lowers health care costs while improving access to health care.
Given these sweeping benefits, all states would do well to follow Alaska’s example and enact legal reforms that eliminate lawsuit abuse. The state motto, after all, is “North to the Future.”

Democrat Brain: The Messiah's A Goner, PLEASE Not Sarah Palin (GOP Will Choose Next Pres)

Saturday, March 06, 2010 1 Response
Great article and is put into perspective why all these crazy ravenous liberals keep coming after Governor Sarah Palin.  It is like putting peanut butter on a rat trap: liberals (or rats) knowing the trap with snap their back & cause death they cannot resist the peanut butter (Sarah Palin): Powerless Against Palin
What could possibly account for this borderline deranged venting of hellfire, this spewing of enough bile to float a battleship, enough gnashing of teeth to pay the college tuition -- all four years -- of the children of a whole battalion of cosmetic dentists?  After all, it's not like Sarah Palin could actually be elected President of the United States or anything.
Or could she?
Of course, she could, or at least the people attacking her think so.  That is not to say that she will be elected or even nominated, but she could and that's clearly one reason why the left is so viciously attacking her and her alone.
[...]
Or Sarah Palin.  Whoever the Republicans nominate in 2012 becomes president in 2013.  And that's the key word:  "Republicans."  Whoever the Republicans nominate.
And that's got to be frustrating for your average liberal Democrat:  knowing that absent some surprising favorable development, the Republican Party will choose the next president.  The Democrats role will be limited to simply standing there and letting it happen.
But as the late Billy Mays liked to say, "Wait!  There's more!"  Because if you're a liberal Democrat facing this prospect, you're probably thinking:  "The Messiah's a goner, but if we're to have a Republican president, please, God, please, anyone but Sarah Palin.  Anyone but an attractive, charismatic, principled, conservative, pro-life woman."
Now sometimes appeals to the Almighty work, but not always, or the nation would have been spared the Obama administration, and any appeals and arguments to the voters -- anything the Democrats do after the GOP chooses their candidate -- will be too late.  The Plan A dog (to reelect Obama) won't hunt in 2012, which leaves liberals with Plan B:  dissuade the Republicans from nominating Palin in the first place.  Throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at her.  Blast her with every crack, every criticism, every accusation, no matter how absurd, how hysterical, how rabid and irrational, and hope something sticks.  Sully her good name; taint her so badly in the public's eyes that Republicans won't dare nominate her.
Either that, or turn on the TV at noon, January 20, 2013 to see Barack Obama, out after one soon-to-be-forgotten term, standing on a platform in front of the White House -- and the entire world puts her left hand on the Bible, raises her right, and repeating after Chief Justice Roberts (or reading from her palm) says:
I, Sarah Louise Palin, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of the President of the United States...
Is it any wonder the Dems are going bonkers?

The Team Sarah November 2009 Newsletter Is Out!

The 2009 November Team Sarah newsletter is out.  I posted the Letter from the Editor, Jane B:
When we think of Thanksgiving Day, along with memories of turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie, we evoke visions of the Pilgrims. The original Pilgrims came to this country seeking religious freedom and freedom to live their lives as they chose. Today's Pilgrims, appearing at Town Halls and Tea Parties, are much like our ancestors; we too want to be free from government intrusion into all aspects of our lives. We want to live our lives as we choose. The theme for this issue of the Team Sarah Conservative Voice (TSCV) is Today's Pilgrims, Citizens Seeking Liberty, a testimonial to the awakening of the American public in these troubled times.

Along with thousands and thousands of Today's Pilgrims, many Team Sarah members attended the biggest rally ever held in our country – the 9.12 Taxpayer March on D.C. This issue features a Special Report with images and thoughts on the March from Team Sarah members who attended the rally. If you weren't able to get to Washington this September, I think after reading about Team Sarah member's recollections of the march, you may feel like you were there also.

In this issue of TSCV, we also have two contrasting featured articles: one is from the sage perspective of how we got to this point in American history; the other is from a contemporary viewpoint on how we can be silent no longer. Along with these thought-provoking articles, our writers have penned some very stimulating columns on topics such as conservatism, religion, and of course, our favorite subject of all, Sarah Palin.

Many writers, editors, and designers contributed to this issue; thank you all! After seeing how Team Sarah members are involved in restoring America to its founding principles, perhaps you too will be inspired to join Today's Pilgrims and get involved in the struggle to take back our country. You can attend a rally or meet with your elected representatives and let them know you want to be free – you can speak out just like our ancestors, the original Pilgrims, did way back when.
