Governor Palin vs. Joe Biden

Monday, May 04, 2009 1 Response

How’s Vice President Joe Biden working out for all you Obamacrats? Did you see the talk shows yesterday? The Obama Administration is still trying to reverse Biden’s latest gaffe on the swine flu. Soon our new Vice President will be sent to an undisclosed location not for national security, but due to his foot-in-mouth disease.
While Biden is embarrassing himself and President Obama, Governor Sarah Palin is adding another credential to her accomplishment list. For decades Alaska has wanted a large-diameter pipeline between the North Slope and the lower 48 states. Previous Governors were not able to make progress and failed to negotiate a deal with the energy companies. This all changed when Alaskans elected Sarah Palin.

Under Governor Palin’s leadership TransCanada has received orders for a pipeline to the lower 48 from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. This is an important milestone and a major step in making the new pipeline a reality. The TC Alaska gasline will be the largest construction project in the history of North America. The TC Alaska line will ship a maximum 5.9 Billion cubic feet per day.
If it wasn’t for Governor Palin’s leadership and determination, this pipeline project could have dragged on for another decade.

Hudson Institute: “Margaret Thatcher & Gov Palin Have A Great Deal In Common”

Monday, May 04, 2009 0 Responses

The doors of the Hudson Institute should be open for Sarah Palin. Hudson Senior Fellow John O’Sullivan had no qualms at all in connecting the Alaskan and Britain’s Iron Lady: “I know Margaret Thatcher. Margaret Thatcher is a friend of mine. And as a matter of fact, Margaret Thatcher and Sarah Palin have a great deal in common.”

How about it, Governor? Shouldn’t you visit these good scholars and thank them in person for singing your praises, while at the same time less accomplished beings such as Kathleen Parker, Peggy Noonan and David Frum were haplessly engaged in trying to dig your political grave? Mark Twain once said of critics: “If a critic should start a religion it would not have any object but to convert angels, and they wouldn’t need it.” Although the timeless author was speaking of literary critics rather than the political kind, somehow I think he would would still approve of such a tour, if only just to poke a stick in the eyes of the latter.

Governor Palin Signs House Bill For Stillborn Babies

Saturday, May 02, 2009 1 Response

Governor Palin today signed legislation authorizing birth certificates for stillbirths. House Bill 2, sponsored by Representative Carl Gatto, allows the Bureau of Vital Statistics to issue certificates for stillborn babies at the request of the parents. HB 2 passed the House 29-1, Senate 18-1.

"This is beautiful because this can surely help a grieving family after losing a child,” Governor Palin said. “I'm thankful that Alaska's legislature recognizes how important a step like this is as Alaska embraces a culture of life and respects precious babies, including babies stillborn, but still loved by their families. Alaskans respect this sanctity of life and I appreciate Representative Gatto's efforts."

“HB 2 gives recognition that the mom of a stillborn child indeed had a birth and now will be able to request and receive a birth certificate stating that ‘yes, you delivered a precious child,’” Representative Gatto said. “Unbelievably, there are mothers who have been waiting 20 years to receive recognition that their child was born. Those moms who delivered a stillborn child left the hospital with nothing more than a death certificate and no acknowledgment that a birth actually took place. At the time of delivery, their child was no less loved.”

Gov Palin Sends Hundreds Of Care Packages To American Soldiers & K-9s

Saturday, May 02, 2009 3 Responses

Operation Military Care K-9 is a program that reaches out to military K-9 teams deployed in the Middle East. Both the dogs and their handlers are recipients of care packages thanks to the effort, which was organized by Beth White, a teacher at Henderson High School in South Carolina. Mud Creek Baptist Church is partnering with Beth to help send such useful items as cooling vests and bandannas for the dogs and sun block and lip balm for their handlers, as the teams have to work in the intense heat under the punishing sun of the Middle East.

A Memorial Day shipment to K-9 teams is scheduled to leave May 11 for the Middle East, and it will include some very special American flags. Each flag will include a message from Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose son Track is on active duty in the M.E.:"God Bless," Palin wrote boldly on each flag. She was thankful to be included in this opportunity to express her gratitude and prayer for the military men and women, says project organizer Beth White.
